Our Genre-Thriller

Thriller

We initially chose to do a social realism title sequence but after planning and trying to decide on what to do, we discovered that this was not a good choice as it would not be a clear genre to create and the idea for our title sequence did not fit with it correctly.
After playing around with ideas and trying to adapt our idea into a genre we eventually decided on thriller as our title sequence. This is due to the idea turning into a mystery with a twist. We then did some research into films that are similar to our idea, this included films, directors and actors who have previously appeared in films of the thriller genre. We found that the films Gone Girl and Gone Baby Gone were good examples of this. We then took great inspiration from the Gone Girl title sequence on how the colour looks, the simplicity of it and the eeriness of it. We chose our main protagonist, who is a young adult, to be Kristen Stewart as she fits the role and has appeared in similar films such as Panic Room and Cold Creek Manor which are both thriller films.

We then made a pitch for the film. In this we included, our idea, the actors, director and film makers. It also displayed the context, narrative and idea of the whole film and what our title sequence will look like.
