Gone Girl

Gone Girl

The title sequence we have taken inspiration from is Gone Girl.
It is a thriller title sequence.
In the film the main protagonists wife goes missing and leaves him clues to try and find her.
We chose this title sequence to take inspiration from as the idea is vaguely similar to ours.
In this title sequence there a dark theme to the image, this makes it appear as though it is almost early evening when it is being filmed. The font is very small and white but is still somehow bold compared to the darkness of the images.
In the title sequence it shows different areas and settings which could foreshadow where the events will be taking place in the film.
We plan to interpret this idea into our own title sequence by filming signs, directions and areas.
The music in this title sequence is very quiet and soft sounding. At the start the man is talking over the noise very softly. Because the music is so quiet is makes the settings that they show seem even quieter which could make it seem eerie and suspicious. This could also suggest that someone has gone missing because the noise has gone as well as the missing person.
The different settings shown could suggest that the camera is looking for the missing person by taking long pauses on each area; making the audience feel a part of the film.
